I have had the honor of completing the lyrics to a song John was working on. This all came about when a I met a mutual friend of Yoko's. This friend introduced me to her via the internet. Yoko was a bit cautious at first which I can understand because of who she is. Never the less things progressed to the point of us becoming friends. We talked about this and that and I shared some of my writings with her , as well some ideas concerning peace, I don;t remember if she asked me or I suggested it ,but John had a few unfinished song lyrics. Yoko gave me her consent to finish one of them, which I did. The song is titled, "Still Believing."
Whan I sat down to finsih the lyrics, I'll be very honest, I felt an energy very strong srrounding me, which unsure of what exactly it was I calmed myself. When I asked , "okay how shalll we start this, " I knew that John's spirit was writing this with me. We knocked a few heads but eventually came up with the finshed piece.
Here is a comment that Yoko said when she read the finished piece, "I must admit that I have, for once, been caught speechless, you have touched upon Johns soul, in a way I can only explain....by saying that John had his hand on yours, while you wrote those beautiful lyrics." ,
As I felt then and still do, that the best person to put music to this song would be Julian. Something tells me the song has something to do with him.
I have waited for quite some time now as what to do with it. Initially when this project began Yoko and I agreed that the finished version of this song needs to be published for the world to hear something from John again thats fresh and new. But I have sent Yoko a few emails about doing something with the song and she has not replied. Which I could understand at the time her be so busy . . But when her email changed and I could no longer contact her I have decided to do something with it. John I know would like something done with it thats why we finished it.
When something like this happens you just don't tuck it away somewhere to collect dust, it must shine as all expressions of creation should be. As John once said. "we all shine on."
